Charitable Giving

Throughout the years, I have wanted to give back… I haven’t, and I regret that. When I started Sharkie’s in 2017 I gave what I could to the local nonprofits that asked.

Now that I am older, hopefully a bit wiser, and stable, so I think, I am ready to give more.

Individuals, and especially businesses that are profitable, should always have a giving arm of their organization to give back to their communities that support them.

Going forward, I will be selecting local nonprofit organizations in the Woodstock Area, that are established and have a history of doing good. As I identify these organizations to support, I will be creating donation opportunities for all of my customers to give as little as a $1 on every purchase they make, whether it is online, in person, dine in or take out.  I will also match a percentage of the total raised to donate to the selected organization.

Stay tuned to this page and to our social media accounts to learn more.

If you wish to be one of our organization that we donate too, please scroll to the bottom of this page to fill out our application form.

Warmest thanks and best wishes to all,

Saugerties Animal Welfare Fund

We are raising funds for the shelter which will go directly to their for a new shelter building!

The Saugerties Animal Welfare Fund was established in 2018 to collaborate with the Saugerties Animal Shelter.
SAWF assists with medical care costs for the animals and organizes fundraising efforts for a new shelter building.
While we are thrilled to say that we are nearing the reality of the new building, our fundraising efforts continue without pause. We are so excited about the chance to collaborate with a local business!

We are eternally grateful for the support we receive from our community.

We are raising funds for the Center which will go directly to their Youth Programming in Ulster County that is starting up this fall!

The Hudson Valley LGBTQ+ Community Center is a non-profit organization that works to strengthen, support, and celebrate our diverse community through programs and services, our Well-Being Institute, and by creating a safe physical space in our building for folks to come enjoy. We network with many community organizations and businesses that serve the LGBTQ community to support and uplift the good work they are doing. We are always glad to have the financial support of the community and to reciprocate in any way we can! Thank you for considering donating to us in any way.

Woodstock Farm Festival Committee

This fundraising campaign has now ended. We are excited that 221 of our customers donated and raised $322. Sharkie’s is also donating $250 for a grand total of $543. We are excited that our Second round of fundraising was a success!

We are raising money for the Woodstock Farm Festival to support their composting program launching this year.

The Woodstock Farm Festival has been bringing local food and local music to the center of Woodstock for almost 20 years. WFF is dedicated to providing food accessibility, supporting regional farmers, and creating a community meeting space through our weekly midweek market.

This year, we are partnering with the Town of Woodstock to launch a town wide composting program. WFF will be the first drop off location for this pilot program, and we will be using the proceeds of this fundraiser to support this initiative.

Woodstock Fire Dept.

This fundraising campaign has now ended. We are excited that 218 of our customers donated and raised $325. Sharkie’s is also donating $250 for a grand total of $575. We are excited that our first round of fundraising was a success!

We are raising money so they can replace nozzles on their fire apparatus equipment. Each Nozzle costs $1200 and ideally they need as many as 4 of them for a total cost of $4800. Our fundraising begins 4/3/24 and will run for 2 months.

Customers can contribute anyway they choose, with purchase from Sharkie’s. In person, online, takeout, dine-in and online shipping of our frozen food. At the end of the 2 month period, Sharkie’s will add a percentage of the total raised in hopes of getting the much needed funds for our devoted fire dept. We encourage everyone to participate as it can be as little as $1 per purchase.

Founded in 1906, your volunteer The Woodstock Fire Department provides 24-7-365 service covering a rugged 69 square mile area to residents and visitors alike.

In 2023, we responded to more than 1,300 emergencies – primarily to extinguish structure, shed, auto, brush and other kinds of fires – and to provide lifesaving medical treatment.

We also respond to smoke/CO alarm incidents, motor vehicle accidents, tree/power line down emergencies, ice/woodland rescue – and frequently come to the aid of residents experiencing all sorts of home-related emergencies.

Our department funding comes from state and local resources as well as generous support from the public.

Our mission is simple: ‘LIP’ – Save Lives, Stabilize Incidents, Preserve Property – all to protect our community’s health, safety and well-being.

Responding to that great need is a daily challenge and demands continual investment in equipment, gear and training.
